Responsibilities
As a Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day tasks involved in our warehouse operations. Your primary focus will be on maintaining efficient order processing, stock management, and ensuring a well-organised warehouse environment.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
1. Picking, Packing & Shipping Orders:
Using our Warehouse Management System (WMS) you will be responsible for ensuring orders are despatched promptly, meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for shipping times.
2. Managing Good In:
Managing the goods-in process by receiving incoming shipments, checking stock for quality standards, and accurately placing items in designated locations.
3. Stock Management:
Conducting regular stock checks to verify inventory accuracy in our WMS. Coordinating the transfer of stock from our overflow location to maintain optimal stock levels in the warehouse.
4. Warehouse Organisation & Cleanliness:
Maintaining a clean, tidy, and well-organised warehouse, ensuring all products and materials are properly stored and accessible.
5. Managing Packaging Materials:
Organising the ordering and management of packaging materials and other necessary warehouse supplies, maintaining adequate stock levels.
6. Health & Safety:
Ensuring strict adherence to health and safety processes and procedures, promoting a safe working environment for all staff.
7. Managing Fulfilment Jobs:
Coordinating fulfilment jobs, such as collation, and organising temporary staff as needed to assist with workload. Ensuring jobs are completed within designated timelines and meet quality standards.
8. Adhoc Tasks:
Assisting with additional warehouse tasks and responsibilities as required to support overall operations.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications, skills, and attributes:
1. Warehouse Experience:
Previous experience as a warehouse operative or in a similar role is desirable, demonstrating familiarity with warehouse operations and processes.
2. Attention to Detail:
Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order processing, stock management, and maintaining a well-organised warehouse.
3. Organisational Skills:
Excellent organisational skills to effectively manage stock, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
4. Communication Skils:
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with team members and relay information accurately.
5. Logistics Experience:
Experience in logistics or a basic understanding of logistical processes is desirable.
6. Administration Experience:
Previous experience in computer administration or familiarity with relevant software systems is desirable.
7. Self Motivated:
A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
8. UK Drivers License:
A valid driver’s license is desirable but not mandatory.
