Step 1
Product grading
With Ora, every product is analysed on 9 metrics of sustainability.
We analyse, where the product is made, what it’s made from, how long it’ll last, which certifications and accreditations it holds, the energy supply of the factory and what happens to the product at the end of it’s life.
Once analysed, a grade is given:
‘Non-Sustainable’ items are marked with a red leaf.
‘Partly-Sustainable’ items are marked with an amber leaf.
‘Highly-Sustainable’ items are marked with a green leaf.
Step 2
Rewards
With Ora, you’ll earn ‘EcoTokens’ for every £ you spend.
EcoTokens are earned based on the grade of the products you order. You’ll earn 3 times as many EcoTokens when you choose to buy Highly-Sustainable items, as follows:
Items graded red receive
1 EcoToken per £ spent.
Items graded orange receive
2 EcoToken per £ spent.
Items graded green receive
3 EcoToken per £ spent.
Step 3
Impact
Your EcoTokens are seamlessly transferred for environmental benefits.
Use your EcoTokens to support one of 2 impactful options:
Plant trees
& offset CO2
For just 500 EcoTokens
you can:
Plant a tree &
offset 50kg of CO2

Ora:
Product Grading
Our aim is to give you absolute clarity, absolute confidence with zero stress.
How we grade our products
We put products through 9 metrics of sustainability so you can be confident in your product choices.
“Many suppliers will classify a product as sustainable simply if it’s made of bamboo or another sustainable sounding material. This is misleading and wrong. Instead, we dive deeper, much deeper, and each product is graded based 9 on metrics of sustainability”
Phil Law, Sales Director
The 9 Metrics
We evaluate and score all products on the following 9 metrics.
Location
Products made in the UK or Europe score more highly.
Factory
We evaluate the energy supply of the factory producing the product.
If the supplier supports environmental initiatives such as tree planting, CO2 offsetting or similar, the product will score more highly.
Materials
Products made of at least 75% recycled materials are considered ‘recycled’. These products will score more highly.
Products derived from at least 75% plant-based materials score more highly due to the fact that they are more easily regenerated.
Certification
Products that hold official certification for sustainability-related achievements score more highly. This can be certification such as FSC, Organic Cotton, GRS Plastic, etc.
Product Legacy
We evaluate how long the product may last. For example, a throw away plastic cup will not score, whereas a metal bottle that may last a lifetime will.
At the end of its life, will at least 75% of the product biodegrade? If so, it will score more highly.
If the product can be easily recycled at the end of its lifespan it will be awarded more points that items that end up in landfill.
Traffic Light Grading System
With all 9 metrics taken into account, we can accurately score the product. This score will result in one of the following sustainability grades, which is clearly applied to every product, making it quick and easy for you to make an informed buying decision:
Non-
Sustainable
Items that are not sustainable are marked with a RED leaf.
Partly-
Sustainable
More sustainable items are marked with an ORANGE leaf.
Highly-
Sustainable
The most sustainable items are marked with a GREEN leaf.
Ora:
About EcoTokens
EcoTokens are the exclusive currency on the Ora Platform, fuelling impactful environmental projects such as tree planting, CO2 offsetting and the recovery and recycling of ocean plastics.
What are EcoTokens?
EcoTokens serve as a vibrant currency within the Ora Platform, designed to empower and reward your choices toward a more sustainable future. By choosing environmentally-friendly merchandise, you contribute to crucial initiatives like tree planting, CO2 offsetting, and ocean plastic recovery.
“The EcoTokens incentive is more than a reward system; it’s a cornerstone of Ora. It allows our clients to maintain control over their purchasing decisions while actively contributing to environmental sustainability. This system has successfully encouraged our clients to adopt greener habits voluntarily, proving that positive reinforcement through gamification can lead to substantial ecological impacts.”
Phil Law, Sales Director
Why EcoTokens?
At Pinksheep, we believe in making sustainability rewarding and engaging. Instead of restricting options, we encourage positive choices. EcoTokens are our way of transforming the purchasing process. When you choose your products, you earn EcoTokens — the more sustainable the purchase, the more tokens you gain. It’s our innovative approach to shift buying habits without compulsion, offering you the power to impact the planet positively with every purchase.
How Do You Earn EcoTokens?
EcoTokens are awarded based on the sustainability grade of each product you purchase:
1 EcoToken /£
Non-Sustainable Products
We understand it’s not always possible to buy sustainably. Where this is the case, Pinksheep will still offset by issuing one EcoToken per £ spent.
2 EcoToken /£
Partly-Sustainable Products
Some products don’t meet our stringent requirements to be classified as “Highly-Sustainable” but are far better than many alternatives. We issue 2 EcoTokens per £.
3 EcoToken /£
Highly-Sustainable Products
For products that qualify as ‘Highly-Sustainable” you’ll get 3 EcoTokens for every £ spent. It’s our way of saying thanks for doing your bit.
This tiered system not only makes sustainable buying clearer but also more rewarding, significantly influencing our clients’ choices towards greener alternatives.
How Can You Use EcoTokens?
Using your EcoTokens is an effortless and automatic process through the Ora Platform, enabling you to make significant environmental impacts with minimal effort.
Here’s how you can put your EcoTokens to work:
Every redemption option is integrated into the Ora Platform, making the process of supporting these initiatives as simple as a few clicks. This seamless integration ensures that you can focus on your business while still making a proactive difference in the environment.
Ora Impact, Option 1:
Tree Planting & CO2 Offsetting
This option is ideal for organisations aiming to meet sustainability goals through focused carbon reduction and reforestation efforts.
For just 500 EcoTokens you’ll:
Plant 1 tree + Offset 50kg of CO2.
Why Tree Planting and CO2 Offsetting Are Crucial
Trees play a crucial role beyond beautifying our surroundings; they are vital in combating climate change. As natural carbon sinks, trees absorb CO2 from the atmosphere, improving air quality and providing essential habitats for wildlife. CO2 offsetting complements tree planting by actively reducing atmospheric CO2, addressing climate change directly and effectively.
Meet Our Partner:
For Option 1, we've partnered with Ecologi, a leader in environmental impact initiatives specializing in global reforestation and carbon offset projects. Ecologi ensures your contributions are effectively allocated, benefiting the environment and supporting local communities. Each tree planted and every kilogram of CO2 offset through Ecologi represents a significant step towards a more sustainable planet.
Transparent Data
Transparency is key to trust. You can view every transaction we make with Ecologi on your dedicated dashboard. This platform not only allows you to verify our transactions but also enables you to explore the specific projects your purchases help fund.
Ora Impact, Option 2:
Ocean Plastic Recovery
Choose this option if your organisation is committed to tackling the urgent issue of ocean plastic pollution.
For just 5 EcoTokens you’ll:
Recover & recycle 1 plastic bottle*
Why Ocean Plastic Recovery Matters
Plastic pollution is one of the most visible environmental issues we face today. It harms marine life, affects human health, and disrupts ecosystems. By participating in ocean plastic recovery, you’re taking active steps to remove harmful plastics and prevent them from entering our oceans, contributing to a healthier planet.
Meet Our Partner:
We are proud to partner with Plastic Bank, a global leader in reducing ocean plastic. Plastic Bank not only focuses on cleaning up the ocean but also empowers individuals in vulnerable coastal communities by turning plastic waste into a currency. This initiative supports both environmental restoration and social upliftment, making your contributions doubly effective.
Social Support
As a supporter of Plastic Bank, Ora members are able to recover ethically recovered plastic that fights ocean pollution while improving the lives of those who collect it. Collected plastic is exchanged for digital tokens that are immediately deposited into the collectors account. The digital tokens can be redeemed for necessities including groceries, cooking fuel, school tuition, health insurance and more. All secured with Blockchain Technology.
